Fic: 'Harry & the Pirate VI: Blood and Treasure (Jack/Harry, etc. - 7/20)

Jan 07, 2011 06:48

Holy Cats! Dear lolitalockhart made FanArt for the Swann siblings a la Harry & the Pirate! They are pictured in their youth and I think she caught their personalities to perfection. Capitaine Chevalle, who is not actually in the H&theP stories as he belongs to the universe of the sequels, is also included, and I may have to write some H&theP fic that features ( Read more... )

> "I fear I will be obliged to stay here, with Aunt Caroline.” <

AUUUGHH! Staying with that snob instead of sailing on the Pearl- what a raw deal!

> ...the boats were so prettily decorated that Lady Harry exclaimed over them, inspiring Will to say something about painting the Black Pearl in a similar fashion. Captain Sparrow looked appalled at this suggestion, and asserted that only the presence of the ladies prevented him from calling his nephew out on the spot. <

Oh, I dunno- maybe the Pearl could use a new look.

Vauxhall sounds completely charming. Perhaps Jack could get used to this lifestyle after all?

I do like that phrase 'Sparrovian grace'- I may use it sometime!

> For it was evident that Tom’s change in status, from privateer’s son to peer’s heir, had quite suddenly made him an object of interest to many an ambitious lady. And evident, too, that Tom didn’t mind in the least! Well, Tom is just a kid. Let's hope that when his head finishes turning, his face is to the front again ( ... )

Well, Tom is just a kid. Let's hope that when his head finishes turning, his face is to the front again.

Tom was just being polite. Mostly.

So happy you enjoyed this chapter! I've always loved reading about Vauxhall, and I'm so glad I was able to convey the atmosphere of the place. Thank you very much for reading and for your detailed comments which are so very much appreciated.

This was a fun one to write, I always loved reading about Vauxhall and was thrilled to be able to make it a location in this fic. I'm glad to know the emotional resonance is evident too. Thank you so much for commenting!

I so want Anne and Tom to end up together! And it seems they share my eagerness, which is nice. I trust Jack and Harry to foil Caroline's plotting, anyway. :)

You know how I like happy endings, but of course there are detours along the way. Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

I am worried about Caroline meddling! I am sure Lord Cecil is charming(I love his name!), but Tom is so, so adorable, and I love Tom and Anne together, they are so cute, they simply belong together.

I am happy that you love my drawing so much! <3

"or sunbathing au natural", I know how she feels, I have a photo of me and two of my male cousins as young children, all naked, and it feels awkward now, lol!

Cecil is charming, but yes, Tom. There's no comparison really, though Aunt Caroline doesn't see it in that light.

Still loving the picture! Thank you so much, and for reading and commenting, too!

"but always coming back to Tom, always sure of his smile, always sure that his steady hands would lead her aright."

Ohhhhhhhhhh, three, count 'em, three always-es!!! I love love--really love love and I love watching this pair! Three...that's an excellent sign and I adore using his full grown-up name and I wonder with my heart if Jack explained to him how one courts a reluctant one...and if Harry's motherheart was as full as joy in seeing her baby grown, loving the father for all these years and the child to a man. Man, I am just a mushmelon, I love all this delightfully generational connection.

And then...I'd cheerfully throttle this pup==he didn't have to be soooo happy about the attention....phooey! Jack! Do something!

I feel the same, which is one reason I enjoyed coming back to the Harry and the Pirate universe, and writing this story. There is just a lot going on, family-wise, not to mention the fun of setting it in England (or my imaginary version thereof). I'm so happy you're enjoying the story. Thank you for reading and commenting!
