Ohmyword...I'm so happy right at this moment. And can Caroline at least be nudged off the dock, miss the boat so to speak and end up in the drink, with an audience please...she's one of those folks I understand and I suppose it is a pleasure to write a 'lady' so different than yourownself.
"her puzzlement at her aunt’s words soon began to turn to annoyance. Hartfield had been prepared to go beyond the line. She would not else have felt that sense of panic and pushed him away." Thank you so very much for these words, they further the story and tell a Massive Truth. If it feels wrong, your body tells you and you must act on this feeling!! I am teaching my nieces and encouraging all women I know to listen to that feeling because it can keep one safe

Thank you for these wonderful comments. I can't tell you how happy I am that you're enjoying the story, and I really am hoping you'll like the second half as well -- we're almost to the halfway point already!
I feel invited to the family gathering, a good Tia who adores pirates and wants each and everyone to act as freely as is possible. Life's good innit? There's goodness in the story, that you like making more for us, that the children turned out as well as they did. I was stalking around this morning indulging myself sorta drumming my fingers waiting and then tada posted!! Yeah, I felt too smart for words. I love stories like this becos it's like the individually wrapped Harry and David dark chocolate truffles--I will still eat way too many at any one sitting, but it takes a while...and yeah, enjoying with big yums as my mantra.
" ... (H)he won a great deal of money from them, and got home safely, though he cast up his accounts, as they say, soon after he arrived."
Is that what they call it? I'll have to remember.
"We were all most surprised that (James) was so adamant, for he has deferred to her judgment in Anne's regard for years!"
"How good of James to choose this moment to come to his senses!"
Amen to that!
"And I'll slit this fellow's gullet if he breaks his word."
"Ha! You may try!"
I'm liking Bertie already. :)
Aunt Caroline, on the other hand, is looking more odious with every chapter. "There are certain animal needs, common to all gentlemen, that one is required to fulfill." Yuk!

Looking forward to tomorrow's edition.

That's one of many euphemisms, there are so many. *g*
Yes, Aunt Caroline is becoming somewhat odious to Anne as well in this instance.
I do hope you'll enjoy the second half of the story as well. Thank you so much for commenting, both here and on FF.net!!
