If You See a Dragon, Don't Scream

Hi, guys! Hope you're all doing well out there in our friendly apocolyptic Manhatten. Been very busy lately, so sorry I haven't been on the network in the last few days.
Anyways, I'm currently at one of the internet cafes with a new arrival. His name is Kang. And I just wanted to let everyone know, don't be afraid when you see him. The reason I felt ( Read more... )

dragons are surprising but not evil, lets not be prejudiced please, this place is really cold!

As long as he is nice, that'll be sweet!

He seems okay, if the few hours I've spent around him are any indication. Haha, it should certainly be interesting having a dragon around here. We've already got talking animals, magic users, vampires and werewolves, and a talking lion...I'm starting to feel like we're reenacting the Chronicles of Narnia!

a dragon?! are you SURE it's not mazoku?

geekofthegate March 17 2009, 06:15:22 UTC
...Uh...well, I can't really say, since I've no clue what a mazuko is. He told me his race was Draconian, and that there are more of his species where he comes from. I'm betting he's not from the same reality as you, Raiel, but I suppose you can find out for yourself when you see him.

...If this mazuko is an enemy of yours...well, please don't go jumping to conclusions about Kang. Not the best welcome for anyone if people are automatically assuming they're a bad guy. He seems like a fairly decent person.

[Protip: "Mazoku" is literally the Japanese word for "Monster."]

ah...but dragons...! i mean i fought a guy who had thirty dragons in him once, dragons are really dangerous!

((OOC: Oh...*faceslap* Well, I just made Daniel out as stupid. He totally would have known that. >.< Oh well, I have a trick for getting around that! ;D ))

Oh, you meant monster! I thought you were referring to a specific person called Mazoku. No, I can assure you that he isn't a monster...or a mazoku. He's sentient, for one thing, and he acts very much like a human. I really do not believe him to be dangerous.

A dragon? Why, based on your helpful little description there, he sounds absolutely wonderful.

He does seem fairly friendly. And who knows? We could probably use the help of someone with a little extra physical strength around here.

By the way, hope you're doing well, Doctor. Haven't seen you since the Team Science function at Seventh Heaven. We should talk sometime, I'm interested in hearing more about what you do.

((OOC: Sorry I never replied to your reply to my comment! ^^; Feel free to consider this the start of a thread invite, if you still want them to meet.))

Quite true. Never hurts to have a bit of help with heavy lifting and the like.

I am, thank you, and I hope you are as well! I certainly agree - I think we could have quite the interesting chat. And I'm interested in hearing more about what you do - well, if you're at liberty to discuss it, of course.

((OOC: That's okay! ;D And I think it would definitely be fun for them to meet, so yes, I'd love to do a thread if you still want to.))

Well, here's an interesting development: apparantly he's been inducted into Team Science as an engineer! Just goes to show how one can underestimate another person.

I'm doing as well as can be expected.
...Well, I've discussed it with a few other people by now, so...it probably wouldn't hurt. I've mainly only spoken with those who have some link to space or space travel, so you would certainly fit into that category!

I wouldn't mind a meeting; I could use some human interaction. (The only other person in my building is a slightly anti-social teenage boy, so I don't get the most opportunities to chat with someone.) What might be a good time for you?

((OOC: Sounds fun! Where do you think they should meet? Someplace interesting would be cool. I don't know enough about Daniel apartment for there to be anything really interesting there. Any suggestions?))

A dragon? I'm sure it would be interesting to meet him. In my world there were dragons, too.

I'm alright, Daniel. But I have to look after a new place to stay. Monster jr. destroyed the dorms where I lived.

Really? So you have dragons in your world? That's fascinating. I hadn't thought of it, but it seems many things that are fictional or mythilogical in my reality are perfectly real in others. Perhaps you will recognize Kang's race.

Glad to hear that you're alright. Let me know if you need a place to stay for a while; I can't gaurantee permanent lodgings, but I'm currently staying in an apartment building that only has two occupants. I'm sure you could borrow one of the unused rooms. (I can't gaurantee the permanence of your stay because the other person living here was here first, and he doesn't seem comfortable with too many people staying in the same building...for various reasons.)

Yes, a lot of different dragons. Some aren't very friendly.

Don't worry, I look for a new room over my journal. In the case there'll be no one who wants me as a neighbor, I take you up on your offer.

The only dragon I've ever seen was an elaborate solid computer hologram, so I can't say I've had the pleasure of meeting a real one before Kang.

I hope you're having luck in that area, then! Just let me know.

A dragon huh? Well he sounds a lot nicer and smaller that the one I met back home thankfully.

Still, Thanks for the heads up.

So you have dragons where you come from? We have a lot of creatures in my reality, but this is the first time I've met a dragon.

You're welcome. I don't want people worried, or alienating Kang because he looks a little frightening.

The dragon I met wasn’t to nice, we kinda woke him up from hibernation one thousand years to soon.

I don’t know how many more dragons there maybe, but I’m glad I won’t be around when it’s time for them to wake up!

[short laugh] Yeah, I don't think I'd want to be around at that time, either. At least you've got another thousand years to keep from worrying about it.
