Personal Journal [Locked to everyone, Easy to Hack]

Jun 07, 2009 00:10

(OOC: Daniel writes a journal on his thoughts, situation, friends, etc. Accidentally posts on internet; is locked, but at minimum, so basic hacking knowledge lets you in. No need to comment, but feel free if so inclined.)

I'm mainly just rambling here, so bear with me, self.

I can't say for sure if this is the absolute strangest experience of my life, especially since my time as an ascended being is absent from memory, but I'm pretty sure it ranks up there in the A List. Living in a dimension where magic, monsters, talking animals, alien races, and all manner of unearthly things exist has done a lot to broaden my scope - and it was already rather broad to begin with, I'd like to think.

And what is with the fact that I seem to keep running into people at just the right time? Maybe it's not just me, maybe people really do pop up here that often. And I certainly don't mind; I'm getting pretty good at explaining things to people on the fly. I just find it really strange that I somehow manage to be in just the right spot when people show up here. I've met at least five newcomers within five minutes of their arrival in the past few weeks. And that in itself wouldn't seem strange, until you factor in the fact that Leon literally fell out of the sky behind me. And then I just happened to be in the area when that girl - Yuffie - was digging herself out of a hole she'd been trapped in for who knows how long. I almost never go by there.

So either my luck is unimaginable, or they are being magically magnetized to me. Maybe whoever's in charge likes that I know how to explain the situation to them in under ten minutes.

Anyways. I've made some interesting friends around here. I don't know that I could say they replace SG-1, but it's good to have friends in a strange place. Jack would laugh his head off if he knew that one of my closest buddies is a draconian; I'm sure he'd make a smart remark about my preferring alien company over humans or something. That's Jack for you.

So, Kang, Kida, Kaylee, MacGyver, and Raiel. And Bolt and Pika. And now I think I'm getting to know Aya Brea and Ziva David - she's certainly an interesting one. Croix, Sora, Link, Danny, Naoki, Toph, the Doctor, and Riku...Riza, and I think I might have a business relationship started with Jean Havoc now. On that note, I can't believe I finally have a P90. Talk about increased security; it'll be nice to be able to fire more than two shots at a time again, and just in time for these new patrol duties, too.  Also, met this Raistlin character, and I am honestly not sure what to make of him. A stranger discussion I have not had since I got here as the one we had at the after-Central-Park party.

I'm making more and more connections, but there are a lot of people I still don't actually know. Which is understandable, I suppose, considering that there must be over a hundred residents, with more arriving all the time. What is bringing us here? Who is behind this?

I hope we figure it out sooner rather than later...I really would not mind going home.

Final Notes:

-My fish is probably dead by now.

-People I have only met briefly but should probably get to know better: Brisco County Jr., Rebecca Chambers, Aya Brea, Harry Dresden, pretty much every member of Team Science; Peter Parker, Billy, Bobby Pendragon, Sora's friend Leon. Mint, need to make sure she has found safe place to stay. Thomas, Wolf, Rosette, Giselle. Did I forget anyone? Will add if I remember later.

-People to watch out for: Some people named Marluxia and Larxene, though haven't met them yet (Word of Mouth); Raistlin (?); tall, blue-haired man with suspicious fascination with the CV monsters (need to learn name; high priority)

-Scavenging for random supplies in the abandoned stores started as a hobby and may now be a lucrative business venture. At any rate, it's a good thing no one lives on my floor of the apartments; I have at least three rooms filled with junk. Raiding abandonded museums is also, interestingly enough, not unlike raiding ancient Egyptian tombs. Mainly just less dusty.
