Fly crow fly (9:49:41 PM): lo, I have returned from the far land that is known as IKEA, having wrest my victory from it's two mile long grasp! I have triumphed over the odds, to return as Amie of the Chair.
DrHJ MrEH (9:50:14 PM): ooooohh
Fly crow fly (9:50:39 PM): *nod* never mind that it's a chair of +4 cheapness....
DrHJ MrEH (9:51:08 PM): hehe
Fly crow fly (9:51:42 PM): the important thing is now I am of the chair. ...and other IKEA goodies.
DrHJ MrEH (9:52:49 PM): ehehe tell me your story
Fly crow fly (9:53:28 PM): one moment. Alow me to get more situated, and the great tale of my quest shall continue.
DrHJ MrEH (9:53:47 PM): hehe
Fly crow fly (9:58:51 PM): Lo, years ago, when the Lady Amie was younger than she stands today, and lived in a cramped room with a friend, and her friend's chain smoking dragon of a mother, her only solace was in her dreams. She did not dream for her freedom. No, for she always had the freedom of the mind, and no matter how restricted she was by these two, they could never take the rolling landscapes of her imagination away. Her only other outlet was in the fabled land of the 'internet.'
Fly crow fly (10:00:23 PM): Little did the two know, however, that Lady Amie had her own tiny portal to this land. It was a small portal, and took forever to pass through, and made everything in the land laggy. The name of this device? The 56k modem.
Fly crow fly (10:01:36 PM): Still, she was content to venture forth, although she was drawn back from this realm multiple times, as the two she lived with wanted it for their own nefarious schemes. When denied that tiny portal, she would then settle to continue on in her mind, exploring new arenas that lay inside.
Fly crow fly (10:04:01 PM): Finally, after near a year of this tyrranny, a friend of hers, Benjo, a local fool in his parent's court, was released from their land of his own volition, and invited her on the journey with him. She was tempted to decline, as he was, after all, an aknowledged fool, and good at his trade, and she didn't know what the new land's laws on murder would be.
Fly crow fly (10:06:13 PM): However, she asceeded to the request to journey with him, after she found that he, too, had been to this land of 'internet!' "Of course!," she exclaimed! "Why, I've seen you in the online realm myself!"
Knowing this, he lured her into accompanying him, as he knew of a way to make her tiny 56k modem into the 'cable' modem that she'd only /heard/ about in the past, a portal so infinitely huge that you didn't need to grab a meal everytime you needed change the land.
Fly crow fly (10:07:00 PM): So she journeyed with this Benjo, to the new land, and took glory in her ability to see the internet realm in the new, quicker light. However, she still had a problem.
Fly crow fly (10:08:00 PM): The portal she used moved faster in the realm, yes, but it was dying. It was still small, and could not take all of her usage. For another year, she dealt with it. At times, she wasn't even able to get to the portal at all, and had to make do with the benjo's portal, when he didn't need it.
Fly crow fly (10:09:13 PM): Still, during this time, she was in the online land enough to make good, lasting friendships with others there. They, upon getting to know her, were saddened that they could not always have their friend around. That the Lady Amie had to depend on her finiky portal to join them on the plains of IRC. So they devised a scheme.
Fly crow fly (10:09:51 PM): A month of planning went by. Two months. Then, at last, upon her doorstep arrived a new, larger, more stable portal. She was giddy with joy.
Fly crow fly (10:10:42 PM): She couldn't use it fully, of course. There was the portal, but she needed a way to see things through the portal, as well as an input device or two, in which she could interact with this realm. So she started off on the first of her quests.
Fly crow fly (10:13:13 PM): The lady Amie donned the clothing of a volumtuous strumpet, and went to parade herself at a used portal goods shop. The men there, upon seeing her manner of dress, were more than willing to give her the things she needed at a lower cost than they would have charged a man, although she knew in her heart that they would never find what they sought with her.
Fly crow fly (10:13:38 PM): And so she returned, victorious. She now had full access to the 'internet' on her portal, and she was happy.
Fly crow fly (10:13:46 PM): For two days, this happiness continued.
Fly crow fly (10:13:53 PM): But then, there arose a problem, again.
Fly crow fly (10:15:48 PM): She had what was needed for the online, but it wasn't long until she realized that if you did not have one final addition to the new portal, you were cursed, and would wake every morning with a sore back, and sleep every night with a headache from eyestrain.
Fly crow fly (10:15:53 PM): She needed a chair.
Fly crow fly (10:17:17 PM): She had heard of these things, but she didn't have much gold for which to acquire one. But she knew of a land, a good journey from her land, at which they posessed many of these insturments that would help her defeat the curse. This land was called IKEA.
Fly crow fly (10:17:56 PM): Sadly, she feared to make the journey alone. So she called up a friend, the Lady Rae, who had made the journey with the fool Benjo many times, to accompany her to this land. And so, together they went.
Fly crow fly (10:18:35 PM): They journeyed, and went through the two mile walk to emerge victorious and return home. With.... the chair.
Fly crow fly (10:18:49 PM): Lo, and then she was proclaimed. Lady Amie of the Chair.
DrHJ MrEH (10:19:39 PM): truly an epic tale.
Fly crow fly (10:19:56 PM): *nods serenely* truly it is. Yea, and then the lady was content.
