Sorry to hear about your firing. It must be a little demoralising. I wonder if you might not be more suited to call centre work (for example) where you're not expected to be all manner of cheerful to the customer. But as I don't know where you work and don't know what industry is around there it's hard to know what could help you. There must be other towns close by where there might be more jobs and it might be worth casting a wider net too.
I think you should let the MIL have the flowers. Be happy that she's gotten behind the idea of your marriage! Perhaps she could place some ribbon in your wedding colours through it, or on the posts so that there's more consistency?
It was very demoralizing. I did have one call center job before, doing political surveys over the phone. It was okay at first, but people started getting really belligerent and rude and I'm too sensitive for that. I think I could do call center work, but not sales or surveys again.
If it comes to it, I'll have to look for work a little farther than I'd like but hopefully not too far.
I've decided to let the centerpiece issue go, for the most part. I'm going to suggest adding a few more colors to it, but not a complete overhaul.
It definitely wasn't my favorite job ever. The people weren't horrible, but I just didn't fit in at all.
I've decided to let the centerpiece mostly stay as it is. We'll see about adding some more colorful flowers to it. We were going over potential bouquets the other day and when I mentioned blue was a part of my color scheme, she suggested adding some blue to the centerpieces, so we'll see how that goes.
Sorry to hear about the job. :/ It sucks getting fired, but really, reading what it was about I think you shouldn't take it to hard because it seems to be such a minor mistake and for them to make such a horrible fuss about it is unfair to you. *hugs*

In the interests of keeping the peace I'd leave the flowers as they are unless Jean asks you if you want to make changes.
