I don't know how to make gifs, but I did find one already-made of an exploding head on giphy? If that'll work for your purposes, the link's here: http://i.giphy.com/oaPcDncoLfgjK.gif but definitely do not click that, it's quite gory.

Thanks so much! I did click on it - but averted my eyes and showed Mike (though I did manage to see something chunky that looked like bloody ground beef at the bottom of the screen - YucK!) But he liked it and it suits his purposes, so thanks again.
