Trapped in a Time Share

Thankfully, we've made some progress in the things we need to do/need for the wedding. We've taken dance lessons. We've hired a photographer and videographer. And we got an officiant. The path to an officiant was kind of interesting.

we had a course 23 years ago as well from our church - the main thing I took from that is communication - but at 19 I thought I knew everything.

That's Mike and I's biggest area we need to work on - communication. That's probably the one cd the pastor gave us I'll really pay attention to.

I admire your patience and diplomacy! I think I probably would have cut the guy off after five minutes and full-out kicked him out after the "man and woman" comment, leaving me without an officiant. I just don't have any patience for people like that.

I can imagine how much of a relief it must be to have things coming together, though.

I definitely had the urge to cut him off, but couldn't do it, but like I said, Mike liked him, and we needed the officiant. Really am glad to have it out of the way and one more thing off the list.

Glad you found someone to officiate your wedding. I probably don't think I could do it with a guy like that who has thoughts like that... plus: I'm also not a very strong believer in god... I'm more of an atheist, and left church years ago...

But I mean, that's something everyone has to decide for himself :)

And I'm glad this is one thing less you have to worry about!

Definitely not totally a fan of some of the guys views, but I think he'll do a good job for our ceremony at least.
