This is going to be embarrassing. I'm uncomfortable. I don't want to write this. That's unusual for me. I like to think I'm an open book. God knows I've written that here more than once. More than a dozen times, I imagine. But this is something I'm not very good at talking about. You know...love. Romance. I'm a fan of the stuff, though

If you're never scared or embarrassed or hurt, it means you never take any chances.
you can enjoy your solitude and spend the rest of your life wondering "what if", or you can just do it and see where life takes you.
you should never be afraid of love - it never hurts. (and if it does hurt, then it's not love. obviously)

Oh, I'm scared and embarrassed and hurt all the time, just not here. I try very hard to be forthcoming and open about what I feel and in how I deal with people. But I don't take chances, you're right. Not easily, anyway, and not without second guessing myself. Being afraid of love is a new concept to me, but true, I think. It's something I'm adjusting to. And you're right, I need to get over it. Love that hurts isn't love, usually...unless you're into that kind of thing.

I like the Good Will Hunting reference. I think that paints a very good picture. Will ended up going after the girl in the end, so I think you should be optimistic.

I thought a lot about what I could tell you that might be insightful or helpful, but I don't have anything. The reason is because I know you are intelligent and reasonable enough to understand just about any situation and know what needs to happen. Its a wonderful gift you have. Now the insightful part: Go take care of business. You understand what needs to happen, so go make your best attempt at making that happen.

What's a wonderful gift? Being intelligent? It's a curse, more often than not. But then, I'm emo enough to say that. :)
