thenightteen is a really good kid. I didn't realize how good I had it with her as my stepdaughter until I had dinner recently with the family of one of selkiesiren's old school friends, and saw what *their* kid was like. Homigawd. thenightteen, in comparison with what I now understand is the average kid these days, is very VERY loving toward her parents (including me, I am fortunate to say), remarkably bright, and is developing a wit that, given time, will be formidable.
Also, I didn't come into her life until she was about 8, so I was spared the trauma of midnight feedings and diaper changes. *Everyone* should have this kind of parental experience. ;)
