Frustration...

I am going to try and post more often. No, it’s not a ‘resolution’ as I don’t ever make those, I just figure that typing something in a word document (to subsequently be pasted and posted onto LJ) would be a good way to look busy on my down times at my new job ( Read more... )

Good luck with the weight stuff. It can be horrible and such a battle, but your goal sounds attainable.

Tendons are also horrible things. From years of sport and stuff(and mostly other peoples injured thankfully) I think I would always rather break a bone than have ligament or tendon damage. Sounds like you're taking care of it though.

Yay AT5 projects :D It's not long now. Looking forward to seeing you again.

Thanks!

With the weight, it just seems like it's been "just 10 more pounds" for quite a while and now that number has doubled! It's partially vain, but it is also about reducing the strain on my ligaments and joints when I dance (for every 5 pounds, 15 pounds of stress is added to your joints when you dance and jump) and also just about feeling better about myself.

Yeah, they say it's better to break a bone than sprain a muscle or tendon because a break heals better. It also doesn't help that I continued to dance on it for years when I should have gotten it taken care of much sooner. I am paying for it now. Chronic conditions are not fun.

And yay AT5! I can't believe it is coming up so fast! only 5 more weekends until I leave and one of them Neep and Cel will be in town! Hopefully I can get each project done in a weekend.

Yay you for working on the weight. I need to do more exercise myself but like you I don't want to have to get up earlier in the a.m. to do it. I also don't live in the safest of neighborhoods.

I wish you much luck getting that injury under control and the pain gone.

I've broken a bone and while it does heal, the area where the break is still occasionally aches, espeically if it gets really cold. But no swelling thank goodness.

*hugs* Have fun getting your projects done and have fun at AT5. Would you mind doing me a favor, I think pengyn is going, please, please, please give her a big hug from me. Then have her give you one back from me. :D I can't wait to hear all about the fun you lot will have there. One day I hope to go.

Technically I've sort of kind half-assed been 'working' on the weight for the last 2 years now (which is probably why I've gotten no results). I am just renewing my commitment and kicking it in the ass.

And it sucks to live in a place where you don't feel safe to walk when it's dark. Luckily, as long as I stay south of my apartment, I feel safe at night. Though I still rather go to the gym since I need to avoid inclines.

Maybe as the days get longer you can find time when it's still light to get a short walk in.

I will add your Pegyn hug to my list of hugs.

I hope you're able to get more results with your renewed commitment to get out there and exercise more. *hugs*

Yes it does. I need to talk to my downstairs neighbor and maybe we can arrange to walk together a few nights a week. Might do us both good.

Thank you for passing on a hug or two for me. :D

Walk are fabulous, especially when you have a walking buddy - it make you more accountable and less likely to skip out because someone else is expecting you :)

Thanks. Unfortunately it will take a bit more than determination. I seem to have a really wacky body chemistry and metabolism. I am hungry constantly so it's difficult to cut my calories because if I don't eat, I get light headed. I think I need to find foods that will stay with me and keep me fuller longer. That will be difficult since I am a bit of a picky eater. And because of dance and my already pretty steady workout routine, it is difficult to amp that up. I am thinking of starting the 200 sit up program (www.twohundredsitups.com) where at the end of 6 weeks, if you follow it properly, you should be able to do 200 good form sit ups without stopping.

I leave in 4 1/2 weeks - 32 days - 1 month from tomorrow! Eep!
