ETA:// I feel horrible for not having read the book, but so far here are the spoilers that are making me the happiest person in the entire freaking world.
1) Harry becomes obsessed with Draco. We are all celebrating now as we speak.
2) Harry/Ginny ship sinks.
3) Draco is bonded to Snape.
4) Hermione and Ron don't get it on, but do the usual which will lead in a lot of Hr/R shippers celebrating around the world.
5) Dumbledore dies? Don't know how creditable that is, please don't tell me if I'm wrong/right.
Yeah, so far those are all the spoilers I've heard so far, and if they are true, HBP will turn out to be my favorite book of all time.
The ORANGE HAS BEEN CRUSHED! *laughs brutally*
The Release Party was probably some of the most fun I've had in ages. To start it off I:
1) Finally came out of the proverbial H/D closet.
2) My two friends who were the only ones I told didn't mind much.
3) I went up to random people asking if they shipped anything and at least 1 out of 10 knew what I was talking about but didn't ship anything.
4) I met a group of cool-ass girls who shipped Hermione/Snape, and grossed them out when I told them my friend Robert shipped Hermione/Ron which isn't true.
5) Met a girl who dressed as Pansy but I was the only one who recognized her costume.
6) Made fun of the "obnoxious" fans who go around calling people muggles and saying they want to kill them. They made the rest of us look retarded like that.
7) FINALLY, and I mean finally meet only TWO H/D shippers, but they are ignorant to teh ways of GnH. I didn't have enough time to tell them about it because my parents were dragging me out of the store, but one of the Hr/SS shippers thought it was cool and was thinking of reading a fic or two.
Besides that, I laughed my ass off most of the time, giggling at the people who acted so ... so ... Lame. I mean I know it's mean and all and please don't get offended, but I don't like it when people dress up (very badly) as characters, fake British accents, and run around saying spells like crazy mental patients. I'm one of those fans who just likes the books, and is more into fanon than canon anyway.
I can honestly say I am a fanon fan, if that makes sense, while everyone there was strictly canon. Oh well.
Anyway the only bummer about all of it is that I won't be getting HBP until the 19th because I pre-orded it on Amazon like 3 months ago. For this, I must suffer and wait patiently for my book.
Please no spoilers, even though I am amazingly crazed and jumping out of my chair at the kind of H?D type spoilers I've seen so far. I hope they weren't lying to me, because OMFG if they were -- BLOODY MURDER. I mean, most of us don't want to read spoilers because it will spoil the book (especially since I won't get it until the 19th), but from the few [supposedly true] sentences I've read so far, I'm floored.
Well, I guess I better go and mope about how I won't read HBP till the 19th. Well, Cassie won't be reading it until the end of the week so I shouldn't feel so bad.
