It took me a minute to figure out when the first part is set. It's after he left, while he's with Orochimaru, right? I also like how you described the death scene.
"All he can focus on is the curve of Naruto's neck and the expanse of grey sky behind it - blurry, obscured, and pouring with rain."
It just...I dunno, it paints a really good picture in my mind.
Very well-written. Worth the wait! Now you must cheer me up with something happy. Or with crack. Whichever comes first. XD

Thanks for reviewing. It's so weird; I'm surprised to find a lot of H/D shippers also into the NaruSasu verse. I, too, apparently got dragged along for the ride. :D
