Interesting to watch, I think McCain did himself more harm than good with his attacks in the middle which Obama pretty calmly refuted. McCain missed a chance to land a solid blow when they got muddled up in the NAFTA discussion, and there didn't seem to be any major sound bite that will be replayed that Obama will regret or McCain will champion ( Read more... )

I like how tax cuts for people earning < $250,000 is "class warfare". Now he's a terrorist and a communist.

I'm actually surprised that McCain didn't use the term 'communist last night, as he was rapidly heading in that direction with his anti-'share the wealth around' diatribes and let's face it, he wouldn't have too far to reach from his current attack platform to actually use the word communist.

About the only time I felt Obama was uncomfortable was when they got into the NAFTA dscussion, and while its largely irrelevant to that topic, I think McCain missed a trick when he tried to paint Obama as Chavez-friendly - I reckon without being overly harsh on the American people, that probably won't have resonated half as well if he'd mentioned Iran or North Korea when talking about Obama's foreign policy.
