finally...done this fucking semester. that was some crazy stupid shit. I still have finals next week, but...really I'm done. There's no more art, just have to go in for a final review, so it doesn't matter. but oh my god, was that a killer semester :| just because of one teacher with an overinflated ego. fuckin...urgh

hehe, thanks <3 I'm thinking of taking it to the AC artshow, since I have space but idk. :( I am all kinda of self conscious about putting my art up there and I don't know if this really measures up. It's super rushed and on crappy paper with like...that crappy divide in the middle where the pages meet ;-; plus i was all pumped to do some watercolors on it, and the colored pencil is a let down.

I actually found another school, but I'm still debating on whether or not school is worth it ^^; it seems kind of a waste to go for art. I mean... not that I don't have tons to learn in art, but I already get paid for my art. And going to school really only hurt my art business, especially since I had a teacher who was kind of offended that I wouldn't stop doing commission work and quite my job to focus on her class ( not all classes, just hers :P )

plus, art teachers are apparently on a vendetta against all cartoony art. :/ because i guess all things cartoon are anime and all things close to anime are WRONG and NOT ART. lol. XD

Thats pretty much true. Cartoon and anime stuff is really full of inconsitancies, and to make things cuter or more menacing or whatever you change the proportions and pretty much anything. So I can see where they are coming from. But at the same time, at least to me, its all pretty visually pleasing. :) I liekz cartoonz. :3

And what? Quit your job and personal/commission artwork? Jeez, controlling much?

Yeah, I mean, I get where they come from completely. You need to study real things first, and move into cartoons. There's way too many kids now a days who copy anime and think it's good artwork and try to get into art school on that. @@ but without that background in life drawing/study, it's just...copying. But there's like a blanket vendetta against cartoons at my school =( like, we have to illustrate a scene from a fairy tale/fable/etc for one of my finals, all in flat, simple shapes, and one of my teacher's critiques of an illustration was "it's too cartoony". She'd rather we used like..a triangle to show a dog than draw a cartoonified dog o__O it was mindblowing

yeah! :D and I have your paws cut out, but I need to do pads on them n-n was doing that last week, but that was when I realized my sewing machine was still broken and had to get it repaired again @@ but i have a temporary replacement now, so yay, I can can sew again. :)
