fursuit pet peeves

Because. I'm tired and irritable and I feel like hating on something. plus I have to stare at a picture of a bunny suit and it looks like a damn dog and it just annoys the piss out of me. e___e

1. BUNNIES THAT LOOK LIKE DOGS/CATS. Buns DO NOT. I repeat, DO FUCKING NOT have a 'stop' between their muzzle and forehead. They have sloping faces, more like a cone than a muzzle attached to a circle. STOP GIVING THEM DOGFACES. Also. They have little slit noses, not 'button' noses like cats. Seriously guys. Look at a god damn picture of the animal you're making, for fucks sake :B or well. any animal constantly being made to look like a dog. srsly, not all animals are dogs furry fandom

2. That...stupid trend of a strip of black around a pink nose. If you absolutely MUST hide the edge of your noses, at least color match and make it look like you give half a fuck

3. Makers whose suits all look exactly the same :B I get it, you have a 'style'. Style doesn't mean all your god damn suits have the same expression and face shape, mix it up! Characters have personalities!

4. Use your own eyes suits done by anyone but LV. ;___; do I really need to explain? These are TERRIFYING. I mean Magpie Bones makes /great/ masks, but the eye holes are a leeeetle too big, and it totally ruins them for me because the effect is just beyond creepy.

5. Glass eyes + resin base = realism. No. Try some detailing, airbrushing, whiskers and some decent anatomy. I mean, almost all realistic makers use a resin base and glass eyes to make small, realistic heads, but there's a big difference between say....Quarazel and Beetle cat and.... oh, Sugar Poultry. :B

6. TUBE TAILSSSSSSSS UGHHHHH.

7. Airbrushing on toon suits. :C I LOVE the look of a clean toon suit, like ( and I HATE to say it ) DHC's work. All markings are sewn in and look neat and clean, like a CARTOON CHARACTER. But a lot of toony makers are slapping on a crap ton of airbrushing on like eyelids and stuff, and it looks beyond weird when mixed with bright, vivid solids.

8. The big plastic globe eyes that are trendy lately. :< Be an insta-stonerdog, just add weirdo plastic globes and excessive eye lids :D

9. The big to-do about moving jaws. ;__; this one is super personal, as I HATE making them and wish I'd never started. The only makers I've seen do seamless moving jaws are White wolf, and I guess quarazel, and I can't seem to get the knack of doing separately furred ones and making them look good. And honestly, I don't think they add a whole ton to performance for the added BS in making them and the significant decrease in expression in the face :< they really only look awesome on realistic heads

blah blah blah I am a grouchy bitch dog today >:| probably because my heat is being a pile of suck and I'm fucking tired of being cold.
