Turning 30 (not quite)

In the last few weeks I've attended quite a few 30th birthday parties. Not really surprising considering I will be 30 in less than 5 months. What did surprise me was how much of a big deal people make for their 30ths. Hiring out pubs in the city, getting dressed up in formal attire, sit down dinners with name tags. The invitations resemble wedding

I'm not a big fan of birthdays (my birthdays I mean), and happy the big 30 is still over a year away... But really can't see myself doing formal parties, and invitations and thank you cards... It's not a wedding! (and I don't really do parties anyway...)
And you know I totally share the last paragraph... It's like my life as well. I guess we're not in that group of grown up 30-year-olds that have families, sorted careers and all that. We'll be forever 21! (like the shop)
