Final Fantasy 10 and 12
All of the Final Fantasy Chronicals/Anthologies (these are pretty cheap)
Onimusha games are ok, a bit hack and slashy, but some story there too.
Romance of the twelve kingdoms
Dragon Quest/Warrior (I can't remember what numbers)

Ummm.. I'm a big FF goof :P

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. At least based on your likes listed. PS2 didn't have much in the way of strategy that was great.

My brother mentioned FF XII. I'll look up the dragon quest/warrior and Romance of the twelve kingdoms looks promising.

Thanks!

Like I'd be following the herd. But it's not automatically out of the question.

If you like Greek Mythology, God of War is pretty awesome.

Other than that, I liked Champions of Norrath and its sequel.

My brother mentioned God of War. And one called Rise of the Colossus, or something like that.

Everquest meets console gaming? I heard good things about the Baldur's Gate foray, too.

We had Baldur's Gate for PC. Didn't know they made it on console. Jerry always seemed to like that one. He said it was a pre-cursor to Neverwinter.

Been playing Neverwinter on the Windows emulator on my Mac. It's good.

Not mentioned, but Rock Band if you like the group atmosphere.

We have a couple of em that are fun and goofy:
Outlaw Golf (2 I believe) NOt big into golf games, but it's fun.
I like MediEvil. Has quests and puzzle levels and such.
Destroy All Humans was fun.

I believe they made a version of Sid Meir's Pirates for playstation also. We have it on PC, but I think the console version got rated well, too.

I'll talk to Jerry and see what he liked playing, if anything on our PS2. You two seem to have about the same taste in games. The ones mentioned are mostly games I played, and don't fit exactly into what you listed.

Don't forget, the older (cheaper) PS1 games can be played on PS2 as well.

Got my fill of Pirates! Which is a shame, 'cause it's such a cool idea.

I might break down and get a Rock Band, but the accessories are a killer.

Well, I need to get a TV to hook it to, first...

Then it's off! Off to Gamestop!
