Sailing

So, I went sailing with my friend Caitlin on Monday.

SINGLE MOST TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE.

But uber-fun anyway. The boat kept doing this thing called "heeling" or something, where the boat tilts and one side is basically skimming the water, and it was SCARY! It tilted really far sometimes, and I'm sure I screamed at least once (why must ( Read more... )

Hooray! *claps* You got all the sailing terms correct (yes, the bow is the front). Aside from screaming at least once, don't forget all those times you squeaked or said, "Is that supposed to happen?" And how the first time we heeled a *tiny* bit you said, "Oh my god!" and started jumping anytime the boat even shifted. :-)

Also, to all random peoples reading this: after we'd been out a while, Chelsea actually LET GO OF THE SIDE OF THE BOAT! Shocking, huh? But how else could she have held the camera to take the pictures? By our return to port she was *almost* brave enough to go out on the bow and retrieve the bowline from the water--although she did stand with her arms out and say, "Fwaaaaaaaa!" (I did too, FYI.) :-D

No! LIES! All of it is LIES!

*cough*

I wasn't THAT bad... I didn't ALWAYS hang on to the side of boat in the beginning... I let go sometimes... kind of...

Hidey heedy hoo! Yepperdy, Anonymous Person (me) is cray-zeee (especially after eating too much sugar throughout the day, like she is right now)! Boogansnot!

And I'm sorry to inform you that yes, it was true. Anonymous Person may be crazy and talk about herself in third person, but Anonymous Person does not lie!

You have now been sued. :-)

Oh, you went to the sea (or was it ocean?) too? Sounds like you had a lot of fun. =D

My visit to the beach did not rise above the usual take a swim and then lounge in the sun, getting sunburnt. ;D

It was a river, actually, which was fortunate for me because I tend to freak out and think sharks are going to eat me if I go out into the ocean xD.

Aw, sunburn is no fun D:. Thank God I had a ton of sunblock on that day, or I would have been burnt to a crisp. Usually I'm too lazy to put any on.

Ah, I see. I much rather prefer lakes as they are not so tricky and motion-filled as rivers and the sea. Thank the holy that our sea doesn't have any sharks or I wouldn't even step a foot in there! XD

Well, I was being ignorant and didn't use anything to prevent sunburns, but since it doesn't hurt, I didn't get it that bad. =D
