'Cause telstra have been major helpfull by not only not installing our broadband, they've taken our digital line away so we can't make or recieve houseline calls while we're on the net, and for a while they made it so only my little downstairs phone worked

Ahem, did the storms have anything to do with phone outage? I've never net this Ted but we've had stacks of helpful guys fix our line in the past when we've broken it. Now we have this broadband everything seems to be perfectly peachy!
