Back to my day job -- and wishing I had more time to write. Bruce Coville's speech was fantastic at the conference -- it was the second time I heard him speak. The first time was in Lake Placid at a SCBWI event a few years ago. That time he talked a lot about using glue to keep yourself in your seat. In other words, WRITE, don't move. Welcome to LJ--we met briefly in the restaurant at this spring's New England SCBWI, and years ago at Lake Placid.

15 minutes a day, 21 days. You can do it!

The link thing is easy. It's in the toolbar at the top, when you're posting in rich text. It's the one with the LJ head and shoulders, rather than the globe.

"Ass Glue" and "Round-to-its"--both necessary tools of this trade.

Hi Kathy --
Thanks for the welcome. I'm already enjoying it. I do remember meeting in the restaurant. I didn't realize you were in Lake Placid too!

Before I forget, do you mean this: kmessner ?

I type out my Live Journal commands in the HTML code or whatever it is called.

1: Left Bracket <
2: no space, type lj
3: space
4: type user=
5: type LJ screename, ie kmessner
6: no space, close bracket-- right >

When you post the comment, it should show up as kmessner

Good luck. It's something fairly easy to learn once you do it a few hundred times.

Welcome to Live Journal, S. It is no nice to meet you. bluemalibu told us how lovely you are and Meg's opinion is golden to me so.. here I am. It's nice to have a new friend-- one apparently "old" friends with some of my newer old friends as well! (Follow THAT one and I'll give you a cigar.) ;>

The last thing I need is anything =more= on my rear end-- but ass glue sounds so slimming and necessary. I may have to cut and paste some on to the ol' tush. ;>

Keep writing,
Pamela
