This is why more advanced magic is so internal in nature (and why magic, as an independent force,changes us the more we work with it). You can't *really* work magic on more than a basic level for years and years without it shattering your ego/preconceived notions/bad programming/etc. every so often.
Or, as I've been told, if you can't bring Kether down to Malkuth, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG! Okay, maybe not in those words. But there are too many magicians who miss the point--they get all tangled up in the Other realms, and forget to bring what they've been given back home with them.
