NaNoWriMo 2012

Oct 31, 2012 00:51

I seem to write more fic during summer. I don't know, maybe it's because the intense heat fries my brain and makes me hallucinate all kinds of ideas. XD November is a very inconvenient month for NaNoWriMo; it's one of the busiest months of the year. December would be so much better... A lot of my old fics were written in December ( Read more... )

Thanks! How would a comic version of NaNoWriMo work, though? Would you have to draw like ten pages a day or something? o.o

Yeah, it would be like finishing a graphic novel in a month. Which would be a ton of work on top of school fff

I've actually wondered that before--why NaNoWriMo wasn't in the summertime. I mean obviously some (most) people work all year round, but there are people who are in school or work in schools and get the summer off, and there are other people who are in school and work all the time and at least get the school part off in the summer. I know a fair number of people who continually want to do NaNoWriMo but just can't seem to put together the time. I wonder how successful a movement would be to move it.

I just realized for you that "summer" is December o.o; Hello Northern-Hemisphere egocentrism! Lol I'm so sorry. By "summer" I meant June-August, so winter for you I suppose--I just realized I don't even know: when do your schools have the longest vacations? In this hempisphere, December would be an awful time for most people (final exams mixed with holidays..yeah) but if schools tend to be in session/exams in June and July as well, maybe those months wouldn't be that great for it, either.

Haha, don't worry about it! XD Our longest vacations are during summer, usually from December to February. We do have "winter vacations" in July, usually for two weeks. Schools have final exams in November, so it's probably the worst month for NaNoWriMo. XD

Nano always fell during university exams here, so it's impossible when studying! I did it one of the years I lived in Switzerland, which was nice, spending the winter cooped up writing with a nice warm mug of hot chocolate. Good luck and I hope you find your muse :) I wish I had the time/energy to do it this year, alas!

Same here! DX Oh, but it must have been really nice writing in Switzerland! And thanks, I hope I can keep it up until the end this time.

Eat candy. Lots of it. Being sugar high tends to bring out the muse.
...well, it works for me, at least.

Aww, but candy makes me thirsty in this weather! DX Maybe I'll drink caipirinha, haha. XD (Mmm, no, seriously, I could have one right now, with lots of ice... *q*)
