I'm not asking for your sympathy but for your happy memories.

Yesterday, my dog Yoda was put down after suffering from a lot of the pain the ailments of old age had brought her. She does not have to suffer anymore and that is the best thing. So, I do not want any sympathy but I want to hear any happy memories you have of any of the pets you've had in your life. So please, share them with me!

Of course I am sad ( Read more... )

my kitty, simpkin, aka simpkitticus, aka wimpkins, aka wussykins, aka fatkins the teddy bear, used to crawl between the top layer of the blankets on my bed (between the comforter and the blanket, not the blanket and bed sheet) and sleep on my feet all night every night. then when i would get up and make the bed in the morning she wouldn't move - so there would always be a cat shaped lump when i left for school. by the time i came home in the afternoon she'd always vacated her hiding spot, but there were wrinkles marking her absence every afternoon.

One of my favorite things about my dog (who has now passed on) was that every once in a while she would do these hack/growl things. Sometimes it was just her hacking up grass, sometimes she just had something in her throat. The best part was that she pulled these hacks out with comic timing like no other. Many times we would be talking about something, and Venus would put in her two cents with her hack/growl. For example: "Hey, I was thinking of going to the movies tonight." And in comes the hack/growl. "Well, I guess we know what Venus thinks about that!"

You kind of had to be there, but I thought I'd share :)

What a cool name for your dog and a sweet story about the pizza!

I used to have a great big saint bernard named Athena and she had a chain collar. One day she layed down to take a nap on the heating vent on the floor. When she got up the vent was hanging from her neck like a necklace (it hooked on to her chain collar) and she didn't notice a thing because she was such a huge dog. She walked around with this look on her face like, "What? Why are you looking at me?" She was such a sweetheart.

My rabbit was eaten by a hawk. I was in jr. high. It was traumatic.
