It's so embarrassing

I'M embarrassed for her.  The poor thing can't say a word without tripping over herself.  And if she DOES say something that makes sense, McCain is saying "It's 'gotcha journalism', she didn't really mean it, she was only talking to a voter."  WHAT ( Read more... )

I don't understand people who aren't totally confused by him picking her. I used to really like McCain (not that I planned on voting for him but I have always respected him and thought he was pretty great). But him picking her... I'm just so confused. And I'm confused that even after annoucing her as his VP pick he and Obama are "neck and neck" in the polls.
Color me cornfused.

I always liked him, too. I thought he was funny and sharp. I think recently he's started to decline anyways, but I feel like his "managers" are running him now, and telling him what to say to make sure he appeals to the conservative base so that he doesn't lose them. He's not going to lose them, because they'd never vote for Obama. He's going to lose the independents/undecideds who see that he is being managed and won't be able to run the country the way HE would - instead it really would be 4 more years of the same.

And choosing Palin was such a strange thing. He wanted Lieberman, and they told him no. He wanted Ridge, and they told him no. So the next choice is her?

I like the idea that we will get punked and find out she's not his choice. It could be like Melrose Place and she could peel off her face and OMG: it's Hillary! And we would all laugh and say "who knew Hillary had such a good sense of humor?" And only Bill would raise his hand.
THEN I might understand why Obama would not be running away with the election. But only then, really.
