I think it's partly the time of year, for I find myself with a big case of the Mehs myself, Of course, you may think it doesn't matter much since I am retired. I would love to be 'out there' with you, scouting! That in itself sounds really fun.
A monthlong battle with pantry moths will make anyone Meh!
I think Taz got it right, there is just this huge wall of static from a thousand little jobs I feel I don't have time for... that it's hard to focus on... much of anything, really.
Gosh..I relate. There are all these LITTLE things that I feel like, doing them would relieve some sort of background psychological itch/uneasiness. I vacuumed the dryer lint catcher a few days ago. I want to wipe the windows inner and outer too! And vacuum the refrigerator coils. And wipe the air vents and baseboards and fan blades.
BUT there's all this "professional" crap to do. So the dust accumulates and annoys on a subconscious level. Meh indeed.
It makes MY head explode, at least. There is this feeling of getting no traction in a house that is too small for our lives and my most comfortable place is getting more uncomfortable by the day.
The big problem is I feel like I am distracting myself by polishing brass on the titanic because I am overwhelmed by the very real things I actually need to be doing but feel unmotivated to do at the moment.
ah, yes, classic procrastination technique! Tackle the overwhelm by writing down what the next steps are. Very often when I am overwhelmed, the next step is to sit down with focused thinking and maybe jotting some things down to help organize my thoughts on what are the things that need to happen. What are the barriers to them happening, what kind of skids needs to be greased with communications...
Maybe you can think about it while you polish brass ;)
