Oooooo It's novelty insect time! Nice :)

Your dentist sounds amazing. It's rare to find someone who prioritizes empathy and humanity, probably even over the success of their business. Who is not burnt out by the endless stream of uninsured and broken people queuing on their wait list. It's awesome that he's been able to help you.

this is all excellent news, and I am so very happy for you.

After all, that is why we are 'here', for each other, right?

I did not skip over your dental entry. But - it's hard for me to dwell there for much time, much less comment. You see, I have the same dental anxiety - so much so it's hard to read and be there in it. But - you were SURELY in my thoughts because I get it. And I'm not as courageous as you. Courage is not the absence of fear; it's feeling the fear and doing it anyway.

Go You for embracing courage!

well I'm glad you get some new teeth. And that you are courageous enough to go through with it all. And what luck, knowing which dentist to pick! I'm reading a book about that emotional state you speak of, the trip to the dentist. How the body, our nerves, make those emotions happen, and this magic doctor who has developed simple exercises to relieve the body of that state, and bring a person back into a state of "social engagement". Interesting! But I'm having a hard time finishing the book. One more chapter, I think. The Healing Power of the Vagus Nerve. I keep waiting for my own body to enter that jiggered up state so I can try the exercise... but its hard to think of, while you're there.

I've heard of such things, and agree that there are a lot of answers for anxiety that come from learning to be more in tune with/control of your sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve systems ( ... )
