Tugging the Taffy

I am pulled and stretched,
meeting weekly production deadlines
on projects where all my "flex time"
to produce them early
was used
recovering from having 3 front teeth pulled,
and having 3 titanium screws implanted in my face,
and plenty of crying about it all
earlier this fall.

Oh, memories....and so ( Read more... )

"because owning a house
is wonderful
AND
awful."

This! All the things that need maintaining and repair over the years, all the times they're NOT repaired correctly...all that $$$$. Argh haha

"despite the rivers of reality
raining straight down on our heads"

Life loves to try and crush us out, doesn't it.

All the time and money that goes into the house!
I KINDA MISS RENTING!

Yeah, life is good at being crushing.... but who know who else is good at crushing us? Conniving, greedy, proud liars, man!

How many people's lives have been destroyed by conniving, greedy, proud liars in every culture, at every level of power, in every kind of relationship style.

Whether they're your parent or child, friend or lover, co-worker, or your political representative... they're out there, ruining EVERYTHING for as many people as they possibly can for any scrap of personal gain.

That's the one!

I watched daphnep take the plunge two years ago, and now she's *obsessed* and I've been obsessed with what she's been making and how much she ended up LOVING the school.

Sailor and I both love miniatures and he's made me a few furniture pieces, set pieces and props for my toybox, but he's also a miniature wildlife carver (doing super-fine detail in 1:1 scale of tiny animals (glass frogs, baby geckos, pygmy owls, etc) alongside his miniaturizations (like a cat that sleeps on my pinkie fingernail) he wants to see what else he can learn about working in the tiny scale!

Are you in the miniature train, too??

Oh my. I love it all. I think it's difficult not to find awe and amusement in anything that is a miniature version of something tangible and familiar, like a rocking chair. Anyone that denies even slight interest in mini versions (especially well-done minis) is either lying or not trustworthy. Haha, did I take it too far?

I look forward to hearing how the class goes! Is it for beginners, as well? Or folks that have a certain skillset going into it, such as Sailor?
