One of the funniest things I EVER saw, that made me just about fall on the floor laughing, was an EP of FT. Guest star Geoffrey Palmer.

And I once bid for a Sonic screwdriver - didn't get it. Tom Baker was MY favorite Doctor.

Comedians don't have to be nice people- and it may help the cause if they aren't- and John Cleese- in his prime- was very very funny.

What makes Chevy Chase and John Cleese stand out to me... is they were picked out by their closest mates as unquestionably unpleasant people.... who *also* happened to be very funny.
Not very funny people who happened to be unquestionably unpleasant.

Not that being likable is the end-all, but I definitely think its weird that money/fame/talent gives some people license (and moral disguise) for being crap humans to the humans around them.
