This is getting a little annoying... computer guy came in late because of a "client emergency" so I've been basically out of commission most of today. Yet he's here now and not working on my machine. *growls in his direction* I could be at home Cuisinart-ing something.
I've been craving chocolate like mad lately - perhaps I just need some really good stuff to lay the gnawing to rest... Mmm, LA Burdicks. Places like that make me understand why chocolate is an aphrodesiac. Trying to see if and when I can squeeze in a trip to Harvard Sq. amongst sleeping in and snowboarding. *crosses fingers for nice weather* I really need to get a handle on my new board. It's gorgeous and large, and challenging especially for a beginner - but I quite like the extra effort needed, it's keeping me from being lazy - and whipping one's body around to facilitate a turn looks rather cool... when it actually works, 'course. :p
Howard Dean emailed me this morning asking for money because his campaign is $400,000 in debt. Man, weren't you making enough? I mean, c'mon man, you raised over a mill in 2 days. Wtf? I almost can't bear to see the news - I swear ignorance really is bliss. It sucks to be this angry and feel this helpless at the same time. I suppose casting my vote next Tuesday will feel slightly empowering, but with the electoral college still in affect despite its obvious archaic outdatedness... ugh, don't get me started.
Speaking of Jesus... that movie comes out today. Admittedly I was really intrigued at first but after seeing interview after interview on it, 90% of which constitute Mel Gibson getting seriously scarily fundy in public, I figure I can wait until it hits video, especially since it's been deemed massivly sensationalized and historically inept. There are huge debates ensuing about people bringing their children to see it - that mask of Christian subject matter cleverly overshadowing the fact that the actual content of the movie is gorey as hell. Which is cool with me - I'd rather it not be sugarcoated. But c'mon people! You won't let your children watch the Terminator crap movies - much more deem those flicks for pure entertainment value as "vulgar" and "trash" - yet slap on religious connotation and all of a sudden the same subject matter is a must-see. Jesus H. Christ you really have those people's nuts in a vice, eh? *best Eddie voice* Well done.
I called the King Richard's Faire people yesterday to see about possibly landing a gig with them in the fall. April are the auditions. I wonder what constitutes an audition for a Rennaisance festival. I can pull off a semi-decent British accent, but I'm hoping that I'm feeling even slightly spicy/witty the actual day of the audition. *shrugs* We'll see, it'll be fun to try out at least, even better to be able to slap on some full regalia and prance around feeling old-worldy for a few weekends. Might tame my thirst for the performing arts that's resurfaced lately...
Bah, Mac guy needs my computer...
