Kimi Wa Petto

So, over the past month or so, I've been listening to the backlog of Slash Reports podcasts. One of them was about a Japanese drama series called Kimi Wa Petto, which roughly translates to "me and my pet" (I think, don't quote me on that). Basically, the premise is that a very successful woman, after having a HORRIBLY shitty month (wherein she's ( Read more... )

From what I understand, all K-drama's have convoluted storylines, are good at the beginning, excellent in the middle, and die a firey death by the end.

I remember that, except I read it as the manga. I didn't know they turned it into a Jdrama! I'll definately have to check that out.

Hana Kimi is also a good live action to check out, cross dressing! Girl goes to an all boy's school, disguises herself as a boy to help someone. It's pretty good, i've watched it a few times.

Gokusen is pretty good as well, woman who lives in the yakuza girl and is next in line for being Boss decides she wants to be a teacher. She brandishes her 'special way of teaching' to a class of delinquints.

I've heard of that one! I'll look it up and see if I can find it online (unless you already know where it is.....).

But yes, Kimi Wa Petto = SUPER CUTE LIVE ACTION and you should completely, completely watch!

Which one? Hana Kimi or Gokusen? :D But I just found out they did a remake of Hana Kimi, so I'm all sad face about that. :( I like the original version much better.

Hee! I'll definately have to check that out now!

Oh, I loved Kimi wa Petto! So cute! And that's saying something, given that I generally do not like J-drama. ("Kimi wa Petto" actually translates to "You Are My Pet" or "You Are A Pet" in English, actually, so you know.)

I would love to see your Glee recs page! It's always the best to see what other people think are great stories and why. :)

Awww, thanks for the translation! I appreciate it. It is SUCH a cute show! SO SO SO CUTE! If all J-drama's are like this, I might need to start watching more of them.

Re: glee recs--it'll come together soon, probably this wekendish. :) Glad somebody wants to see them.

Someone made a live action version of Antique Bakery?!?! I loved that comic!

Also, I can fully endorse the first story arc of Coffee Prince. (I have a short attention span when I have to watch streaming on my computer, I don't know why. But someday, I do intend to watch the full series -- it was released on dvd in the US, so I don't have much excuse.)
