Lots of good, arable land cheap. J wants to have a farmstead for his retirement. I can do my job anywhere as long as the internet still exists, so it should be easy enough to retire when our house is paid off, as long as I can maintain health insurance and earn enough for the taxes, which are much cheaper there, too.
Word. I hear it's very pretty in the northern parts of the state, the southern parts (at least the ones I have seen) are kinda...brown ;-)
Do you like New Hampshire? Because I would kill to live there. Or you know, at least visit. For some reason I have this really romantical notion that living in NH and/or Maine must be absolutely fabulous. But I haven't been to either, so I wouldn't really know.

NH is awesome, but we love the no-tax lifestyle. If you are looking for certain things, it may not be here or not here any longer. There are a LOT of Massholes who have moved here and changed the political climate.
No, we did. We had a teen friend who'd asked us to adopt her baby if she were pregnant. She claims she wasn't pregnant after all, but we think she aborted.
I used to play on Worldwinner. Some do play rather successfully, but I wonder how they manage the taxes thing. That's what hit us the most. We actually dodged the tax bullet, all things considered; but the more you win (whether you actually take it out of the site or not), the more you'd pay in taxes.
J just got a new awesome job so Idaho may be closer to reality than ever before! YAY!
