Circle Lenses, Are They Safe?

I just read an article about circle lense posted on the New York Times. I mean I have been kind of iffy on Circle Lenses for a while already but I ready do wonder about the safety of the product. I have to admit that I'm guilty of owning a pair or two, but honestly I don't wear them often. In the beginning when I first got them I was excited and

I was at an optometrist -_- he specifically told me all the horror cases he had when people brought cheap cosmetic contact lenses and wore them..."casually" there was alot of infected eyes etc. He made it out that anything that hasn't been properly prescribe shouldn't be worn because these lenses are made in bulk with no consideration for the chemicals used and the comfort of their wearers (each eye has a different shape and size)

Thanks for the info! I wish I was a bit more cautious before, but owell. I guess its good that I didn't wear them too often, tho seeing that causal wear could cause so much problems, I guess it was still stupid of me. I pretty much stopped wearing them now. Funny thing is that they were actually more comfortable them my normal contacts yet I didnt like wearing them often.
