I'm so sorry for you. I lost my kitty Flaster last fall, two weeks after Chris died, and I still have days that I just break down and cry over both of them. It takes time.

That shock is probably one of the most painful things I ever felt, when we suddenly lost Marcus. He and Cleo were older than Dash and Joy, but they were bonded and so seems like you're reliving practically the same thing. I can only hope you're able to take a break from it now and then. Sometimes it feels like distracting the mind gives a little respite for a while so you can resume living through the heartache.

I'm really glad your vet gave you that pawprint. I think it's become a custom now, and I think it's a very important one. Somehow it feels more tangible than a photo, and more personal than the urn it accompanies. Marcus' and Cleo's laid in their bed under my desk for weeks after.

The tabby boy seems sweet even just looking at him. If ever there was an instance where two lives needed each other, this is it. I'm happy you found each other.
