in and out of the passport office in 30 minutes! there wasn't much of a lineup, and because i did my application online i was able to bypass the 25 people who had been there before me. the guy said it should still take a month to get here! so! i'm set! haha!

shrimp wontons! i made them yesterday in a lemongrass broth (i cut up and crushed some stalks, boiled 'em up) and then sprinkled a wee bit of chile oil on it, because i remembered that suze place used to serve that dish. the broth was very bland but WOW the wontons were as good as i had hoped. good ole msg.

i wake up early and what does it get me? a commisionaire coming round at 9am telling us that people called in sick to work at the passport office so we wouldn't be processed that day. apparently he had been round earlier and had told people near me that we would have no trouble getting in today. ah well. today would have been a good day too.
