I know it's been over a year, but...

Yes we can.

Yes we will.

Yes we must.

YES WE DID.

It may have been over a year, but I haven't forgotten you! [hugs!] My mom was talking to me last night about how Obama was projected to win and she was really hopeful, and I was watching an auto-refreshing news ticker and interrupted her with "McCain just conceded." Usually my mom just talks over interruptions, but that stopped her, and then she starting smiling so huge.

And then I went around my flist squeeing with everyone who made a post like this one. ♥ Because this joy is too much to contain to one person, it just can't be held down like that.

Woot! *hug* I assure you, I've been lurking. Between work and then fretting about the election, so much of my headspace has been taken up there was little left over. This is a phenomenal relief.
(And is soured by Prop 8 and some Congressional races that didn't go the way I wanted, but it's still there.)

The moment Obama was projected (virtually at 8 on CBS), arconius and I started screaming and hugging. Then I started calling my parents and gibbering at them. Then I called my aunt and gibbered at her. There was lots of gibbering, especially as I was already two wine coolers in. *wg*

I am so farking *relieved*. President-elect Obama. What a lovely sound.

I had faith that Obama would win! Not faith in God type faith, faith in my fellow Americans. Seeing that faith be justified was just . . . amazing.

I'm trying to be realistic about Obama. He's only human, sadly, and isn't going to be perfect. But he's so much closer to what this country really needs than any of the other options presented recently (where recently equals 'longer than I've been able to vote') and his election gives me so much hope it's hard not to get carried away. XD

Obama isn't a messiah or perfect, no. To expect him to be so, especially with the massive problems we have, is foolishness and stupidity of the highest order. But he's definitely closer to what we need, and the fact he had enough brains to select Biden to offer a good second opinion speaks very well for him. He'll do the damndest he can to help fix things, I'm sure.

And man, I wasn't this jazzed for Clinton. And he was the first President I helped elect. This is... I mean... wow. Clinton was more the least noxious of the choices, but Obama I *wanted* to see in office.

I mean... WOW.

We need to send him our best vibes and wishes; he'll need them.

Hell, yes we did! *dances*
I just got up. Still sick and will be even sicker now that Prop 8 passed.
At least the people finally got it right in terms of our president! Woot!

Oh yeah, that soured it a hell of a lot. I'm angry and disgusted.
Fortunately the anti-eighters are not taking this passively. I suspect holy hell will be raised.
Worst comes to worst, we may be able to wait and let the worst of the old homophobic assholes die off; Kos has it the vast majority of the pro-8ers were 55 or older. People in our age bracket don't much give a damn who's interested in what set of plumbing.

But President-elect Obama... that, I'm still happily trying to parse. :)

What pissed me off is that about two weekends ago, there were a ton of Yes-on-8 folks lining PCH...and some of them were kids! Looks like bigotry is handed down from generation to generation...

President-elect Obama, though: Yes!!!*fist bump*

Still sick. The Plague has now wrecked havoc with both eyes and with my ears. Oy. Albert has been very attentive, though. Very little noisemaking the last few days! *wg* Lots of purring, tho.

Monday when I was coming home from my volunteer time at the library, there were a bunch of friggin' 8ers on the Crown Valley/ Maguerite intersection. I had to edge by a few of them. I don't know whether it was them or the assholes passing by honking approval that got to me most. *grit teeth*

OMFG TERRORIST FIST BUMP *bump*

Hell. Are you able to get antibiotics from the clinic if you need? At least your noise production system got the clue you were feeling sicky and let you sleep. And buzzing is always good for therapy.

And over here I have this Thing that sits on me mornings a lot. I also used a grill I won at the Despot Cashier Olympics for the first time and grilled up some chicken tenders... and wow, the pitiful *whining* that followed.

Big blue eyes, pointed paw taps on my arm, whines... you name it. You'd think skinnybrat liked chicken or something. Bearcat is at least better behaved there. XD
