KURZ
After a sally of dungeons Sunday night and Monday morning and evening, Kurz finally got his own Very First Seasonal Achievement, getting Elder while running Azjol-Nerub. He also cracked 79 in the process, and became exalted with Orgrimmar, meaning he could buy his very own Riding Dawg (tm). Kudos to Jon for helping out with the DPS. Kurz was then a massive smartass about having the Elder title IC, because as a blood elf I posit he's pretty young. In human terms, he'd get seriously carded for drinks. ;)
Though all this kind of begs the question of what happens when he *does* hit 80. I know a friend of mine has said that's when the game really begins, but I *like* leveling. It gives me something to work for, stuff to see and do, and well.... after 80, sure, your money opens up but... Well, let's just say grinding for rep, trying to get leeter armor, and having jackasses rag me in heroics because my DPS sucks or my gear sucks or my DPS rotation sucks or any number of things is not what I call a fun time. Unfortunately, anonymity brings out the asshole in too many people.
Meh. Maybe I'm a hair burned out there and I need to switch gears for a day or two. The whole dash to Elder *was* kind of oversaturation. Kurz still has some things he'd like to do, like get enough cash for epic flight, do the grind to get a netherdrake, and so on, so I guess that'll keep me entertained for a while.
EISHASHIN
Eish herself finally got her Explorer achievement the same day Kurz got his Elder, so that was two achievements in one day. Nifty tabard is nifty. So is nifty title.
Given
arconius was justifiably bitching about the 'joys' of tanking and the extreme length you have to wait to get a tank for a dungeon, I volunteered Eish for tankage in the Nexus as I've been there before and she's a bit more suited to tanking being a Frost death knight. We both had a few levels since the last time in our early 70s, so the hope was she'd manage better at level 77 than 72.
We lost our first healer after the first boss fight, quite possibly because she said earlier the dog was messing with the cables under her desk and the dumb mutt probably succeeded. We waited, got another healer, and proceeded. I changed my DPS/ threat rotation and had that lovely thing called anti-magic shell going, so it helped to keep my runic power up. I also knew the lay of the land better, so that helped with the panic situation a bit better.
Where it got messy was Keristrasza. The paladin healer apparently missed a buff, died messily, and in the process of trying to save the guy Jondalar tried to take Keristrasza off him and pulled aggro from me. Then *he* died messily. The rest of us managed to down Keristrasza, but it was very close for me.... probably more so because towards the end I likely wasn't moving enough to dispell the very nasty stacking debuff she casts on people. Nonetheless, we survived the experience and nobody else was an arsehole about Eishashin's tankfu or lack of. Jon also got that last Elder he needed for his achievement and left, vowing to never go in the damn Nexus again. XD Eish teased him about being an old fart. Sappy Death Knights are disturbing. And sappy. ;)
I figure I need to respec Eish at some point to heighten her Tankfu, but I don't know whether to wait until 80 or not.
ASCHAI
Boomkin went boom some more by teaming up with the other Night Elf Dork in random dungeoning. Aschai and Kiandros managed to finally access Un'Goro Crater, griped about what a jackass Fandral Staghelm was, and also queued for a random dungeon in the meantime because hey, blue shiny things to wear.
We got Blackrock Depths as a result. The human warrior that was tanking was quite good in pissing off all the mobs at him, which is what a tank is supposed to do and which I figure I need some work at with Eish. In the meantime, Aschai merrily turned into an owl/ bear/ stag....thing and Hurricaned the snot out of 'em all. The healer this time was a very nice draenei shaman who emphasized with me on paladins ninjaing loot and let me win some leather pants I can't wear yet but should be able to in a couple levels. He was also quite grateful when he got spacked by something and I fortunately managed to rez him pretty much intact. (The combo of glyphs I have are ironically very useful for that, even though Aschai's mostly a freakin' Balance (ranged DPS) druid and not a Restoration (healer) druid.) Said shaman mentioned before he left he wished we were on his server, which was very kind of him.
To my great joy, Aschai finally cracked level 50, several neglected months after hitting 40 and being sidelined by the Hordies. It means Outland is that much closer, and in the meantime Un'Goro and Silithus should provide plenty of entertainment for both her and Kiandros.
