Today we went to the Prado, where I could have stayed for days. I´ve never been a huge art person, but my Prado experience was simply incredible. ...and I may never come home. It´s in the 60s and sunny, I´ve forgotten what snow looks like, and everywhere we go I hear birds and smell flowers. It´s GLORIOUS. And that´s just the weather! For some reason, I've recently been getting twinges of homesickness. It's nothing at all like the tear-laden, stressed-out "I need to go home" emofest I had at the end of last semester...just this vague, unsettling feeling of missing people I love. I have no idea what prompted it, and it's puzzling because I'm overall so incredibly happy here. 

I'm going to Spain!!!!!!!!!!

This semester is going to be phenomenal. I can just feel it. I'm all moved in with Marlie - and our magnificent fish, Ernesto - and our room is bright & clean & happy. I've been staying surprisingly productive and doing all of my work way ahead of time, which feels amazing. And I just made The Vagina Monologues, which should be ridiculously fun. ( Read more... )

Sometimes my optimism is unrealistic and I set myself up for disappointment, and sometimes everything falls into place exactly how I hope it will. Last night was all about the latter.
