Boy On The Outside, Girl On The Inside

The title kind of says it all.

Someone told me that this is a very friendly community, so I thought I'd try introducing myself here.

I am the creator of a website for transgendered people who don't change their bodies.  The name is the same as the title of this post, and the URL is http://www.geocities.com/girlinside123/

I think you're mistaken that those who transistion are not aware of the risks.

People who choose to physcally change their bodies are plenty warned about the dangers. They're forced to go through loads of councelling which is often designed to discourage them, must have significant real life experience, and endless other amounts of barriers (notably financial!). In my opinion, they're usually very certian and determined folk, seeking something that will make them happier and more comfortable.

Personally I support equal and plentiful acceptance for everyone who does not transistion and those who do transistion or anywhere in between. There's nothing wrong with creating a site to support those who choose not to change their bodies, but I would be careful framing it as the better choice.

I'm really glad you're trying to do what you're doing. For myself, after spending a few years in an exclusively genderqueer identity, I ended up transitioning. And one of the factors in that decision (although certainly not the only one) was the thought that perhaps others in the community would finally see me as really being trans. I wish that wasn't the case, but it was actually a big factor in my decision to get on hormones at the time instead of waiting longer. Having something like your webpage around for me at the time could have been pretty helpful ( ... )

Thank you all for your help. Even those of you who object to certain aspects of my site have been much friendlier than people in other places I can name. Some of those people even resorted to ad hominem (ad feminam?) attacks. I'd better go thank that person who recommended this place to me.

*drive-by Latining*

Homo hominis just means person (male or female), so ad hominem is still correct.

While I'm here (and philologizing), octopus is Greek so if you really want to be pedantic about the plural, it's octopodes. (I'm a classicist. Being pedantic is second nature to me.)

Now that I've got that out of my system...Welcome!

Hey, I've just made a few mistakes in trying to find the right place. It looks like this is it. No need to accuse me of trolling.

I recognize her from another site. I doubt she's trolling. (It doesn't count as trolling just because you disagree with her views.)
