Also get a tape measure and have a friend measure your waist and inseam, and chest (while binding) around the fullest part. (You get more accurate results when someone else measures you than when you try to measure yourself.)
A lot of times a boys' XL is the same thing as a men's XS or S - it isn't any shorter in torso length.
If passing is what you're after, masculine women's clothing isn't likely to cut it. If you don't find women's clothing comfortable, masculine women's clothing isn't going to cut it there either.
Thanks for the tips. I realize trying things on is the only sure bet, I just wanted to know where to start and possibly get a good enough sense of sizing to be able to order online (I hate shopping).
It's good to know that boy's XL is roughly equivalent to men's XS/S. There always a gap from 32 in. to 38 in. in the size charts so I was never sure. (Also, I totally mistyped. I'm a B, not a C.)
I'm not so much concerned about passing. I just prefer men's clothes most days and would like them to fit properly and not emphasize my curves.
I'm 5'8 and a B cup who wears medium tops in women and I have no trouble fitting into men's small shirts. And I know that I wear 32x34 pants, since the extra length will inevitably shrink after washing. If you're skinnier, you might have to look in the boy's section for your pants. I don't remember what the smallest waist I saw in men's was.

As mentioned above, men's pants are all sized by waist and inseam. So you need to measure. But as you've probably guessed, that is the starting point. Like most sizings, different stores will play around with it, so a 31 inch inseam in one place will be different from a 31 inch inseam somewhere else.
Also, for jeans most places have various widths for the pant legs. I guess they assume all guys are huge because in general pants for men are getting bigger and bigger. So pay attention to whether you are trying on a Slime Fit, or a Relaxed Fit or a Generous Fit or whatever new names they are coming up with for "These Pants are HUGE In the Thigh Boys". Most jeans stores, like Old Navy and Gap, will have several different styles and will explain what each name means somewhere in the jeans section.
Mens dress shirts are sized by your neck size and your arm length. You can read online wear on your body to measure and then use that as a starting point if you are looking for a dress shirt.
I am also an XS women's. I go to thrift stores and find all my "boy" clothes in the children's or women's department. I just look through all the women's styled clothing until I find clothes that are cut/designed like mens. Children's boy's sections are really great though. I don't waste my time in men's sections anymore because I never find anything that fits me.
