Thanks for the rec, Penny! While I don't think I'm quite as enamored with this debut as you are, I thought it was enjoyable. The twist at end shows definite promise for future books. And yes, I do agree with you 100% on the hotness of Crispin (sorry, just can't call him "Bones"). ;)
Glad you enjoyed it, and I'm sorry I keep missing you on IM.
So what about it keeps you from giving it a 5-star review, out of curiosity?
I too wish she'd just called him Crispin (or something else, better yet), "Bones" is really an icky name for the Hero. But, he's so fabulous that I can overlook it.
The biggest issue I had was with Cat. She was just a little too shrill and abrasive for me. I admired her strength, but I thought she was almost TOO bold--I had a hard time believing she wouldn't get hurt or caught at her own game more often, given how quick she was to jump at things.
Anywho, am I showing up to you as online, or idle, ever? I had to reinstall Yahoo Messenger; I wonder if I'm not showing up for you or something.
Hmmm....I didn't really have issues with Cat, but I can see your point about it being hard to believe she hadn't gotten caught at her game before meeting Bones. I liked the fact that she and Bones had such an equal partnership; he did truly respect her abilities (even if he had to let her know her own limitations). She didn't become a simpering damsel-in-distress once she took up with him, and I liked that
( ... )
I read the book while I was away on vacation for a week and I really liked it. The only issue I had with it is that I'm not used to that much violence, but it didn't really upset me like most violence in books/movies does. I'm going to guess that it's because she doesn't dwell on describing it to the nth degree.
Loved Cat. Loved Bones. I can't understand why Cat decided to leave though... she's better off with Bones than without him.
Did you know that Frost has a livejournal? She friends people back too!

did I mention that the vampire Hero is *HOT*
I don't suppose there's an equally 'hot' heroine as well? *eyes cover with interest* :-)
