Who are two of your biggest fictional role models? Why?
Captain Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce from the novel, movie, and television series "M*A*S*H*". A drafted, military surgeon in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He served in the 4077th MASH unit during the Korean war. Dr. Pierce's skill in the O.R. is only matched by his wit and his dislike (to say the least) towards the military. Intelligent, peacefully defiant (my favorite fictional rebel), and selfless to his patients.
I admire...
His compassion towards wounded soldiers.
His bravery and emotional strength.
His clever, and usually humorous, solutions
to dealing with red tape and military authority
for the good of his patients.
I wish...
He was real.
He wouldn't drink so much!
That Alan Alda didn't ruin him.
Dr. Alan Grant, from the movie and novel "Jurassic Park" and "Jurassic Park 3". A paleontologist that was invited to Jurassic Park by John Hammond.
I admire...
His intelligence.
His fascination with the past.
His dedication to his research.
I wish...
He was real? (Dr. Grant is based off of Jack Horner, a real-life paleontologist famous for describing Maiasaura and evidence that some dinosaurs may have cared for their young)
I could work as an intern at one of his digs...if he were real.(Even though dinosaurs are really not my thing)
I could steal his hat.
Honestly, Dr. Pierce is the only character that I would consider to be a fictional role model of mine but I did admire Dr. Grant when I was in elementary school.
