Just when I think Natasha is a lazy couch potato, she goes and surprises me by being maternal and protective.

• One night before CJ was born, she came and woke me up via the snuffle method. Hard to ignore an 85-pound german shepherd snuffling you at 4 in the morning. Anyway, I assumed she needed to go outside, and let her out. I heard a beep.
