The MySpace Dilemma

Hmm…you know lately I’ve been thinking of getting a MySpace page, but I just can’t bring myself to do it. You see, when I think MySpace, I think ‘virtual playground for kiddy-fiddlers’, and even though I’m 20, I’m still hesitant to publish my own personal information all over the net. For someone to go searching for you on myspace, they would probably have an account already, filled with bad photos and bad spelling & grammar, so I doubt that seeing your account would make that much difference. And you can just not list yourself under any schools, I think that's the main way that someone you know would come across your profile.

Oh yeah, and myspace doesn't do much to stop you having your privacy - livejournal stuff is more private, and I find it funny when I stumble across public livejournals of people that I know.. because it's more likely to have private things. When I see people I know on myspace, I know (or have assumed) most of the stuff that's in their profile usually.. sometimes their answer to the sexual orientation question can be a bit of a surprise though.

Just some people I know, mostly friends of friends.. I can't really think of anyone that you'd know tho
