Frollo looked up from his reading as he heard a knock on the door. What alerted him more to the paperboy's presence wasn't so much the rapping noise he made as this presence, this way about him. Frollo wasn't quite sure what to expect as he creaked open the Palace's wooden door.

...It was a child, this one brattier than the last.

He rubbed his eyes. "Come back some other time, preferably when you're wearing rags more respectable than what you so charitably describe as a publication." He began to shut the door and retreat from the cold.

"Subscription fees aren't due 'some other time'," he pointed out with a scowl, dark eyes fixed on the priest. "Two dollars."

[A knock on the door! Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

The door swings open, Deadpool standing there eagerly in nothing but a towel around his waist and his mask. Which has a shower cap on top of it. He's also holding a rubber ducky and a one of those back-scrubber things.]

[The disappointment is nearly palpable when he looks down and sees some kid asking for money. There's a long, long moment where he just stares at him. The tense music practically building in the background until........]

No.

[And then he slams the door.]

[Well that's that, isn't it? The door is closed, and the problem is solved.]

[So why is there a sudden thick, cloying tension in the air? Why is the silence so palpable? There isn't even the sound of a ratcheting bike chain as the paperboy pedals away. There's just a tense stillness...and a feeling of being WATCHED.]
