If this is marriage, I want no part of it.

I clicked over to this article in The Weekly Standard because it's an objection to same-sex marriage that I had not encountered before.  I thought I'd be reasonable and mature and consider the enemy's other side's point of view, but I can't because this makes me want to vomit.  Here's the link to the article:

"Marriage, whatever its particular manifestation in a particular culture or epoch, is essentially about who may and who may not have sexual access to a woman when she becomes an adult..."

...because we can't choose for ourselves after all...silly empty headed women that we are...

obviously reading this promted my own slew of editorial remarks...but that was really the first "Bwah!" one.

"There is no particular reason to ban sexual intercourse between brothers, a father and a son of consenting age, or mother and daughter."

I love that not once - not ONCE - is there a mention of the legal rights of marriage...power of attorney, taxes, medical say-so...the gays don't care about these things I guess. They get their lovey dovey romantic relationship and that's all they need?

Seriously. If this is what heterosexual marriage really is...then Matt and I need to have a talk.
