Back to uni this week, and for the first tutorial, we focused on the poets of world war one. I found this to be very powerful poetry, and although very sad and depressing to read, i was intrigued by the first line in Hopkin's poem "No worst, there is none". I really enjoyed your poem, making it in first persona really gave it that extra meaning.......i love the last stanza and the soldiers attempt to stay alive and resume living.....once the war had ended.....its quite sad to think that for many soldiers, the only thing that would get them through the darkness of reality was their imgaination in their spare time, thinking of what home would be like, and acting like a human being, instead of a machine....killing over and over again....
