THE ENDING OF NARUTO CHAPTER 439!!!
OHMIGOD!OHMIGOD!OHMIGOD! ...OHMIGOD!
I am in AWE. I stopped following Naruto a while ago because I was just too tired of them going through villain after villain and not really getting anywhere, you know? I swear it took them 10+ episodes to get through the three seconds Sakura had during her fight with Sasori. (Yeah, I stopped watching way back then.)
Anyhow, recent posts all over the place have been talking about Hinata's big confession and I was like, "What big confession?" So I went over to OneManga to check it out because, believe it or not, I'm that bored today. Since it was only two chapters back, I kept reading until the latest chapter.
Am I ever so happy that I did! Because:
(a) Yondaime!!! In the present!!! ^_______________^
(b) Naruto might actually get to know one of his parents. Even if it's just the few seconds they spend in his consciousness, he'll have gotten a moment with his father and that makes me cry buckets in pure joy. I've always had a soft-spot for Naruto because of his childhood and now... now it feels like, for a single second, he's going to have what he's always wanted. He has his father, if only for a moment. He has his father and I'm sure that means more to him than anything else in his world ever will again.
Phew! Enough with the squeeing and the mushiness now. I just had to say, Kishimoto-sensei, you are a genius! xx
Also, I must be a horrid person but am I the only one thinking that there can be fic where Naruto purposely pushes himself to the limits just so that he can see his father? I doubt the Yondaime, even in Naruto's head, would be particularly pleased with his son's actions but I get the feeling it'd be a bit like Lana Lang in that episode of Smallville. The child knows their parents wouldn't approve of what they're doing but they just can't help themselves. Naruto isn't anywhere close to Lana in terms of character/personality type but I can see it happening. Jesus, I should NOT be coming up with Naruto-fic! I have better things to do with my life. Damn it.
