For the first time in Henry's life, he had pets. A cat that seemed to know how important it was to keep both children and puppies safe (children that were working on crawling and discovering now), while the puppies seemed to be almost on the same level of the girls, frequently forgetting how their limbs seemed to work

Rebecca hadn't meant to be out at the store so long but the queues had been longer than she'd expected.

"Sorry, sor-...Fuck!" She cursed as she nearly fell over her own feet getting the groceries in the door. "The lines were ridiculous and there was a trainee on the tills so I had to g-..." She stopped and stood in the doorway as the puppys trotted over excitedly to meet her, her husband on the floor with the girls and a harassed looking Tibbs. "I regret nothing because you look adorable right now."

"That was a lot of naughty language and proximity to accidents." He immediately regretted starting out with that. Greetings should always come first, a show of appreciation and happiness to have the other one present.

"We managed, Rebecca. You're here now. Want me to put everything away so you can sit down and take off your shoes?" He got up, giving the cat a pat of support when he turned to Lily. "Hi. I'm going to try to come over to you for a kiss."

"Be brave." Rebecca said as he crossed the room to her, grinning as he approached and leant into the kiss. "Well done. You survived the perilous journey to kiss me." She said when they parted, and then handed the bags to him. "I'm going to say hi to the girls and drown in puppies. Come rescue me once you're done?"

Somewhere behind him he heard Lily protest about his shifted attention, but Henry ever so slowly started to learn that she could do without him for at least a minute. Purring followed soon after, and he could look around to see the cat lying down next to her. Distracting her. Maybe they should do some tests, see if this animal really was just a plain cat.

"I will." He kissed her again. "If you deem it to be necessary."
