Yuletide: Dear Author!
Hi, Yuletide author! I'm sure you've noticed that my sign up itself is somewhat paltry-looking, and that's mostly because I always forget to sign up until the very last minute! (Made it with 30 minutes to spare this year, oy.) But thank you, thank you in advance for the wonderful fic that I'm sure you're going to write for me in advance, and here are some more details to help you out. :D
General Guidelines
I'm not a big fan of slash unless I explicitly say in the request that I'd like it, and I'm really not a fan of anything too crazy if you decide to go NC-17 with a fic (like, no rape, bondage, incest, furries, etc.)
And this still applies from my letter to my author last year:
I love fluff when it's written well, and I'm usually a fan of more gen stuff and canon couples than fandom couples. While I'm not a huge slash fan, in the fandoms I've specified wanting it in, I love it. :D I'm a big fan of characterization, and honestly, if the fic isn't heavy on the action, but is good on characterization, I'll love it. I know I didn't request any of his works this year, but I'm a BIG Joss Whedon fan. I love how his stuff keeps you on the edge of your seat and how you never know just what he's going to do because nothing is off limits. No couple is guaranteed to be together forever, no one is guaranteed to not die...I LIVE for that kind of drama. I prefer stuff that takes place within canon timelines to AU, but I'm not against AUs or anything. I love humor. I love to laugh, and I'd love it if there were some bit of humor in the story somewhere.
Misfits
Characters: Nathan Young, Kelly Bailey, Simon Bellamy, Alisha Bailey
Mostly, I'd really love to read some Nathan/Kelly. It KILLS ME that they never got it together on the show. I'm not averse to some Simon/Alisha either, if that's what you prefer. But really, I think I just want the group dynamic, even if Rudy if you feel like including him. Maybe Nathan comes back from Vegas? (Oh god, I'd love you forever, author.) I'm okay with any rating for this, since Misfits is a pretty raunchy and out there show anyway. :D
X-23 Comic
Characters: Laura Kinney, Logan (X-Men)
I'd love to see just Logan and Laura bonding. Just a a buddy-fic where maybe they play pool or go for a beer and get into a bar fight. I wouldn't object to Laura/Julian as well, even though he's not in X-23, strictly speaking. Please no Logan/Laura.
Shameless (US)
Characters: Lip Gallagher, Ian Gallagher
I'd love to see all of the characters just up to their usual schemes to make money and get by, but most of all, I really want some Lip fic. Maybe Lip/Karen or Lip and Ian bonding over something or getting over on someone. I really just love their dynamic as brothers. Just no Lip/Ian, please. I love them as brothers, not lovers.
Being Human (UK)
Characters: George Sands, John Mitchell, Annie Sawyer, Nina Pickering
I am a HUGE George/Nina shipper, so that'd be my preference here, either pre-baby or post-baby. It'd be great to maybe read some kind of AU where Mitchell's around for the baby and all the subsequent freakout too. I just love this group's dynamic, and I think I really just want a bit of fluff after all the horrible stuff they've been through.
